Natasha Bedingfield Video Meaning

Someone asked me what all those cartoon stereos were about in Natasha Bedingfield's "These Words" USA video. It seems that someone thought that it was a cool idea although the general consensus is that the US music video is much worse than the original UK video, at least the lyrics to the song are the same.
